What is a Giving Circle?
Giving circles are a form of community caregiving in which those with financial capacity contribute to a centralized pool which is then dispersed among those with financial need.
Why is QUEER|ART creating a Giving Circle?
Based on the information gained in our COVID-19 Impact Survey, we identified a serious need for financial support in our community, and in particular that nearly 40 responding artists were concerned about being able to afford basic needs. To respond to this need, we are creating a Giving Circle to help ensure that the essential needs of every Queer|Art community member are met throughout this ongoing crisis.
What is a “Basic Need”?
Basic Needs include food, medicine, cleaning supplies, rent, and other immediate and essential needs.
How is this different from other donations to QUEER|ART?
Unlike other forms of support for Queer|Art, all donations made to the Giving Circle will go directly to individuals within our community of Queer|Art|Mentorship artists on an as-need basis as outlined above. .
How are funds being dispersed?
Every two weeks, beginning on May 15th, funds will be dispersed to artists who have requested aid on a first-come, first-serve basis. Ideally we will be able to meet all requests for that two week period, but if there are more requests than we currently have funding for, requests will rollover into the next 2 week period.

How do I contribute to the Giving Circle?
Use the donation link here to make a contribution. If you are able, we encourage you to make your donation recurring so that we can continue to support artists on an ongoing basis through this crisis.
Is my donation still Tax Deductible?
Yes, all donations made to Queer|Art are still eligible.

Any former or current Queer|Art Fellows and Mentors.

How much support can I receive?
At this time our maximum disbursement is $200. However, you can receive this amount and then reapply to receive another disbursement during the next two week period.
I am looking for funds to support an artistic project -- can I still apply?
Unfortunately, no. At this time we are prioritizing meeting basic needs and unable to provide financial support for artistic projects through this Giving Circle.
