QUEER|ART is dedicated to supporting our community of LGBTQ+ artists through the COVID-19 crisis.
In addition to adapting ongoing programming to such as Queer|Art|Film and Queer|Art|Pride, Queer|Art has been working to assess the needs of our community, making connections to available resources, and filling in the gaps as much as possible through a mutual aid network and giving circle.
QUEER|ART GIVING CIRCLE
The Queer|Art|Mentorship Giving Circle is a new initiative to provide direct financial aid to QAM artists who need help covering their basic needs. We are seeking donations from community members to pool and distribute amongst QAM artists on a biweekly basis, to ensure that no one in the Queer|Art community has to go without essential needs during the ongoing crisis.
COVID-19 ARTIST RESOURCES
In response to the COVID-19 crisis there have been hundreds of resources made available: from guides on staying safe and healthy to direct aid funds to offset loss of income. Queer|Art has been going through resources and compiling those we find most useful for artists in our community.
COVID-19 IMPACT STUDY
To assess how the COVID-19 crisis and related shutdowns have been affecting our community of LGBTQ+ artists, Queer|Art created a COVID-19 Impact Survey, which has given us a clearer picture of both the severity of the crisis and where Queer|Art can help.
QUEER|ART DIGITAL EVENTS NEWSLETTER
Our monthly newsletter highlighting upcoming events by Queer|Art|Mentorship and Queer|Art Awards has been reformatted to include digital events of all kinds, as well as other recent work accessible from your home.
