Wishing you all a very happy Valentine’s Day! As we celebrate love in its many forms, we’re hoping you can show some love and care to our community of artists by being our Giving Circle Valentine! We’re hoping to get 22 monthly donors to our Queer|Art|Mentorship Giving Circle program before the end of the month. Can you be one of them?
Nearly two years ago in the spring of 2020, we created the Queer|Art|Mentorship Giving Circle, as a small way to help our community of artists who were struggling due to COVID-19. In the Fall of 2021, we committed to making the fund available on an ongoing basis, to continue to support our Queer|Art|Mentorship artists through the multiple compounding crises of COVID-19, white supremacy, late-stage capitalism, and climate crisis.
Thanks to the generosity of members of our extended community, we have been able to distribute over $18,000 directly to artists in need over the past 24 months. These funds have covered things ranging from medicine to hospital bills, funeral travel costs to other unexpected emergencies.
This program has become a vital support for artists in our community, providing much needed financial aid in moments of crisis. To sustain this work, we are asking you to become a recurring donor to the Giving Circle. By providing a monthly donation, of any size, you will ensure that this crucial community caretaking can continue through these ongoing moments of crisis.
