Silent Partners Grant - Each month, Silent Partners issues two $1,000 grants. Both are one-time payments awarded by our Decision Panel. These grants provide direct support to Brooklyn-based Black artists, activists, and community organizers to support their work. Deadline: Open all month, or until 100 applications are received.

Iris Prize LGBT+ Film Festival - This festival brings filmmakers from around the world to Cardiff, Wales, UK. Iris is home to the largest short film prize in the world – the coveted £30,000 Iris Prize. Regular Deadline: June 1, 2021
Judy Chicago Art Education Award - The Judy Chicago Art Education Award, funded by Mary Ross Taylor, honors Judy Chicago and her pioneering work as an art educator. The award is open to those creating projects based on primary research that incorporates any of the archives that are included in the Judy Chicago Research Portal, which was launched in October 2019. Deadline: June 1, 2021.
NewFest: The New York LGBTQ Film Festival - One of the world's largest and most respected annual celebrations of the year’s best queer films from the U.S. and abroad--featuring over 160 films from more than 30 countries, as well as special events that bring together filmmakers, celebrities, movie lovers, industry professionals, and the LGBTQ community. As part of NewFest’s Black Filmmakers Initiative, they are currently waiving festival submission fees for Black filmmakers with LGBTQ stories centering Black characters & voices. Node Center International Curatorial Program - The International Curatorial Program is an innovative eleven month online curriculum that combines learning and practice for emerging curators of contemporary art. The dynamic program includes a tailored series of theoretical and practical courses, interactive live sessions with experts, and ongoing mentorship through group critiques and individual sessions. Deadline: June 4, 2021.
Reeling: The Chicago LGBTQ+ International Film Festival - Reeling: The Chicago LGBTQ+ International Film Festival is the second longest-running film festival of its kind, and prides itself on showcasing the best LGBTQ+ films each year. Late Deadline: June 10, 2021.
Call for Video Proposals: Day With(out) Art 2022 - Visual AIDS invites artists and filmmakers to submit proposals for new video works to be produced and distributed to over 100 venues worldwide for Day With(out) Art 2022. UPDATED Deadline: June 13, 2021.
Encounters Film Festival - Encounters Film Festival stages one of the world’s leading international competitions for short film, animation and immersive moving image work. Their mission is to provide an international platform for new and emerging talent in filmmaking. Deadline: June 14, 2021.
Chicago Film Festival - The Chicago International Film Festival celebrates the best that cinema has to offer. Showcasing films from established masters and emerging storytellers, the Festival welcomes films from around the world. Offering an impressive selection of competitive and non-competitive programming, the Chicago International Film Festival brings films both domestic and international to silver screens in Chicago. Deadline: June 14, 2021.
Artadia Awards - Louisville - The Artadia Awards provide financial support, exposure and recognition to artists. The awards are unrestricted, allowing artists to use the funds in any way they choose. Deadline: July 15, 2021.
The Barbara and Carl Zydney Grant for Artists with Disabilities - The program will distribute unrestricted cash grants of $1,000 to artists with a disability who have experienced financial hardship due to the COVID-19 crisis. The program is open to visual, media, music, performing, and literary artists who live in New York City (five boroughs). Deadline: June 15, 2021.
Collective Futures Fund - Starting in 2021, the Collective Futures Fund will award a yearly total of $80,000 in grant funding to collaborative and public-facing projects by visual artists, curators, and collectives across Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, and Middlesex counties (Greater Boston area). Applications open March 30th, 2021 in the following three categories: Sustaining Practice, New Work/Project Grants, and Ongoing Platform Grants. Deadline: June 15, 2021.
Arizona Underground Film Festival - Arizona Underground Film Festival is Arizona’s premier genre cult film festival, and one of the most recognized underground film festivals in the country! We make it our sole mission to showcase the work of filmmakers with defiantly independent visions. We are on a quest to represent every genre of independent film from across the world celebrating the artist, and their work. Deadline: June 16, 2021.
HollyShorts Film Festival - HollyShorts is an organization devoted to showcasing the best and brightest short films from around the globe, advancing the careers of filmmakers through screenings, networking events, and various panel and forums. The Academy Qualifying HollyShorts Film festival showcases the top short films produced 40- minutes or less. Deadline: June 18, 2021.
City Artist Corps Grants - City Artist Corps Grants are intended to support NYC-based working artists who have been disproportionately impacted by COVID-19. The program will distribute one-time $5,000 grants to over 3000 artists to help sustain their practice and engage the public across New York City’s five boroughs this summer beginning July. Artists working in any discipline are eligible to apply. Round One Deadline: June 22, 2021.
Austin Film Festival - At Austin Film Festival, it is our ongoing mission to champion the work of writers and filmmakers, and this goal has never felt as urgent as it does today. Our film competition has grown year after year and so have our efforts to serve as an avenue into the ever-evolving entertainment industry. Fellowships and awards available. Deadline: June 25, 2021.
Hyperallergic Journalism Fellowships for Curators - We know curators are finding it hard to find the resources to do their own work, so we’re inviting curators to submit short proposals for projects they are currently working on for a $5,000 grant that will help you in your research, while offering the public a window into your process. Each Fellow will be expected to contribute two articles to Hyperallergic, participate in a recorded online event, and produce an email exhibition based on some of the material from your research, all within the one-month fellowship period. Deadline: June 30, 2021.
New American Paintings Competition - Our competitions are open to all artists working within the United States. We define the activity of painting broadly, and all styles and media are welcome, as long as the work is singular. CONTEXT Art Miami - CONTEXT Art Miami, presented by Art Miami, returns for its ninth edition Nov 30 - Dec 5, 2021 and will feature 95 international galleries showcasing emerging, mid-career and cutting-edge artists. CONTEXT Art Miami continues to develop and push boundaries on the conversation about contemporary art. The Fair offers an exceptionally strong platform for collectors to discover and acquire fresh and significant works in today’s primary art market. Deadline: July 1, 2021.
Austin Film Festival Podcast Script Competition - “For this competition, we’re looking for ongoing, original, serialized stories. Writers can submit up to three episodes 3-30 pages in length of their series with the overall content of the story not going longer than 90 pages. Writers should also include a series outline, detailing the events of the remaining episodes in the series.” Deadline: July 9, 2021.
Seattle Queer Film Festival - The Seattle Queer Film Festival, a program of Three Dollar Bill Cinema, has been held annually in October since 1996. The festival has grown into the largest event of its kind in the Pacific Northwest, gaining industry and audience recognition for showcasing the latest and greatest in queer film, from major motion picture premieres to emerging talent. An important venue in the Seattle film scene—and the social event of the season—the festival provides unique opportunities for visiting and local filmmakers to engage and entertain over 10,000 attendees. INTERNATIONAL MEDITERRANEAN FILM FESTIVAL MONTPELLIER (CINÉMED) - Deadline for submission for Short Films, Documentaries, and for the Development Grant. Deadline: July 12, 2021.
The Ruth and Harold Chenven Foundation Grant - The Ruth and Harold Chenven Foundation gives annual awards of $1500 to individual artists living and working in the United States, and who are engaged in or planning a new craft or visual art project. Deadline: July 15, 2021.

San Francisco Transgender Film Festival - Founded in 1997, the San Francisco Transgender Film Festival (SFTFF) builds a strong and diverse community through the power of transgender cinema. SFTFF is the world’s first and longest-running Transgender Film Festival, and co-presents year-round screenings in collaboration with other LGBT film festivals. Our programs strengthen awareness of transgender identity, history and culture, support emerging and established independent filmmakers working with transgender themes and provide a dynamic and inclusive forum for dialogue about local and global transgender issues. Deadline: July 25, 2021.
Web Series Festival Global - A great opportunity for anyone wanting to gain more exposure for their web series. There are three categories that will be judged in this competition which are web series, web series scripts, and web series pilots. Up to three episodes of each web series will be reviewed and scripts of any length or format are allowed. All submissions will also be considered for the grand prize. Deadline: July 30, 2021.
Bahamas International Film Festival - Bahamas International Film Festival (BIFF) is a unique and intimate Film Festival taking place in Nassau, the Bahamas showcasing films from around the globe. BIFF presents world premieres and all films shown at BIFF are Bahamian premieres. There are four competition categories; Spirit of Freedom: Narrative & Documentary; New Visions; and Short Film. Special sections include World Cinema as well as Gala Screenings. Deadline: July 31, 2021.
Leeds International Film Festival - Founded in 1987 and one of the UK's leading film events, Leeds International Film Festival is renowned as a dynamic event with a reputation for challenging and innovative programming. A qualifying event for both the Academy Awards and BAFTAs, LIFF presents eight national and international competitions for short films with total cash prizes of over $6000. Deadline: July 31, 2021.

Betty Bowen Award - Administered by the Seattle Art Museum, the annual Betty Bowen Award honors a Northwest artist for their original, exceptional, and compelling work. The winner is awarded an unrestricted cash prize of $15,000, and a selection of his or her works is shown at the Seattle Art Museum in the spring. In addition, up to two Special Recognition Awards in the amount of $2,500 are often granted at the discretion of the Betty Bowen Committee. Deadline: August 1, 2021.
The Halstead Grant - The Halstead Grant is an annual award worth $7,500 for emerging silver jewelry artists to help jewelry entrepreneurs create a strategy to kick-start their careers. Deadline: August 1, 2021.
Middleburg Film Festival - The Middleburg Film Festival offers four days of fantastic films in a spectacular setting, only 30 minutes from Dulles International Airport and just one hour from Washington, D.C. A carefully curated selection of narrative and documentary films screen in intimate theatre environments, followed by fascinating Q and A's with world-renowned filmmakers, actors, and other special guests. The films include festival favorites, world and regional premieres, first-class foreign films, and Oscar contenders. Deadline: August 1, 2021.

McColl Center for Art + Innovation Artist-In-Residence (Summer 2022) - McColl Center for Art + Innovation is a nationally acclaimed artist residency and contemporary art space committed to putting artists first with 360 degrees of support, including artist studios, modern equipment and tools, and exhibition spaces. Deadline: August 15, 2021.
Bemis Center Artist-in-Residence - Located in the historic Old Market, Omaha’s arts and culture district, Bemis Center's 110,000 square foot facility accommodates a broad range of artistic activity. Selected artists-in-residence enjoy generous sized, private live/work studios complete with kitchen and bathroom, and a $1,000 USD monthly stipend. Due to the limitations of B2 visas (touring/visiting), international artists-in-residence are eligible to receive reimbursement of qualified expenses, such as airfare, ground transportation, and meals. Selected artists are responsible for organizing travel to Omaha to attend the residency. Deadline: August 16, 2021.
